National gas and diesel prices continued to set records Wednesday as American workers were exposed to side inflation.
The American Automobile Association (AAA) said Wednesday that the national average price of regular gasoline was $4.56 per gallon and the average diesel price was $5.57, an all-time high. The increase follows record gas prices on Monday, when the national average for conventional gas was 4.48, according to Breitbart News, and Tuesday, when the price rose to 4.52, according to AAA.
Records on Wednesday were nearly 50 cents higher than a month ago, when regular ticket prices reached around $4,087 nationwide.
Democratically controlled California has the highest price in the country. A gallon of regular gasoline in the Golden State hit a record high Wednesday, averaging $6.05 a gallon. Diesel also set the state record at $6.57 per gallon.
The following states are closing the list of the highest gas prices in the country:
- Hawaii – $5.34
- Nevada – $5.22
- Alaska – $5.12
- Washington – $5.14
- Oregon – $5.10
- Illinois – $4.91
- New York – $4.86
- Arizona – $4.82
- Pennsylvania – $4.74
The Biden administration has repeatedly denied responsibility for the excessive costs. According to Breitbart News, in March, President Joe Biden, when asked about the sharp rise in fuel prices, said he “can’t do anything now” and blamed Russia.
When asked if he had a word for Americans in crisis, he said, “They’re men.”
On May 9, Biden doubled down on Russia, as Breitbart News noted:
Biden talked about how artificial the used car market will be in 2021 due to the lack of affordable computer chips.
We have a similar problem this year, but because of Putin’s gas tax it is energy,” he said, calling the tax a gas tax because it has caused such disruptions in oil markets around the world.
Breitbart News notes that although Biden was quick to blame Russia, “his administration has terminated all oil and gas leases to Alaska’s Cook Inlet and the Gulf of Mexico since May 11.
