Special – Herschel Walker to Joe Biden: Fire Janet Yellen for low inflation

Georgia Republican U.S. Senate candidate Herschel Walker is urging Democrat President Joe Biden to impeach Secretary of the Treasury Janet Yellen over inflation failures of him and the Biden administration, in an exclusive interview with Breitbart News on his campaign.

“Inflation is out of control and the US economy is in free collapse: it’s time to fire Janet Yellen,” Walker told Breitbart News before making it public. “We must restore Washington’s accountability and integrity. They’ll let you in if you don’t do your job in business. Raphael Warnock stood by Joe Biden to endorse Secretary of State Yellen, and is still standing next to him. He has failed the American taxpayers and should be held accountable. It’s time to go, and now I ask Raphael Warnock a simple question: With the worst inflation in the last 40 years, do you agree that it’s time to get rid of Janet Yellen?

Walker, who easily won the GOP primary for the U.S. Senate in Georgia late last month to support former President Donald Trump, challenged Democratic Senator Raphael Warnock (D-GA) in November. The seat represents one of the best GOP opportunities in the country, along with Arizona and Nevada, as Republicans seek to regain a majority in the U.S. Senate in the November midterm elections. The House is currently split 50-50, but the Democrats have a majority because Vice President Kamala Harris is already breaking the tie, so Republicans need a clean start in the midterms to get it back.

Inflation has become arguably the biggest problem facing the country, and the Biden administration’s failure to address the problem – and its continued indifference over the past year – is once again plaguing Democrats. Last week, inflation rose to 8.6 percent, its highest level in 41 years.

Yellen has been criticized for her role, or lack thereof, in reducing inflation. Last year, he described inflation as “temporary”, arguing that inflation is not bad and poses “little risk” to the economy. She has since admitted she was wrong in interviews and testimonies to Congress.

“I think I was wrong about the course of inflation,” Yellen told CNN’s Wolf Blitzer in June, for example.

While Walker’s call for Biden to end Yellen’s service seems justified, it is unlikely that Biden will fire the Treasury secretary due to the lack of accountability throughout the Biden administration. This is partly because the Biden team has full Democratic control over Washington, because in addition to the majority in the Senate, the Democrats also have a majority in the House of Representatives. Both majorities are historically small – the majority in the House of Representatives is only five seats – but they do give Democrats a chance to protect Biden and his administration from serious scrutiny and criticism. Due to the presence of hammers, the Democrats decide which sessions are to be called and which are not, and which official Congressional matters such as committee sessions and voting are to be considered and in Hindi.

If Republicans regain control of one or both houses in November, there is a strong possibility that this dynamic will change and people like Yellen will be more vulnerable. Democrats have avoided tackling inflation for the past 18 months, but Republicans will make this the primary and central issue to be fought if they come back to power.
