Gasoline was sold 0.4 cents above the reference price and diesel 2.5 cents

The average price at gas stations was, in the week of July 11 to 17, 0.4 cents above the weekly average price determined by the ERSE, in the case of gasoline, and 2.5 cents above in the case of diesel, was announced this Monday.

In relation to the previous week, it was verified that the average of the Public Sale Prices announced in the porticoes, and reported in the Balcão Único da Energia, was 0.4 cents/l higher than the efficient price of that week, in the case of 95 simple gasoline and 2.5 cents/l above in the case of simple diesel”, according to information from the Weekly Report on Supervision of Retail Prices, published by the Energy Services Regulatory Authority (ERSE).

In percentage terms, “simple gasoline 95 was advertised on the portals 0.2% above the Efficient Price and simple diesel was advertised 1.2% above the efficient price”, says the same information.

The efficient price “is an average weekly price determined by the ERSE and results from the sum of the following components: fuel prices in the international markets of reference and the respective maritime freight, primary logistics, including in this part the strategic reserves and of security of the National Oil System, the cost overruns with the incorporation of biofuels and the retail component plus the respective taxes”, says the regulatory entity.

Also in relation to the previous week, and in terms of reduced prices, which are the average prices published by the General Directorate of Energy and Geology (DGEG), “simple gasoline 95 presented a deviation of -2.3% compared to efficient and simple diesel price – 2.5%”.

Thus, in absolute terms, these estimates are, for simple gasoline 95 and for simple diesel, 4.7 cents/l below the respective efficient prices”.

The discounted price, it should be noted, is calculated based on the prices reported by the gas stations, “weighted with the quantities sold in the last known period, incorporating discounts practiced at gas stations, such as fleet cards and other“.

According to the regulator, for this week (from July 18 to 24) “the efficient price before taxes is 1,161 euros/l for simple gasoline 95 and 1,229 euros/l for simple diesel. After taxes, the efficient price is 1,989 euros/l and 1,921 euros/l, for normal 95 gasoline and normal diesel, respectively”.
