TAP informed its clients this Saturday that it will allow them to change the dates of the flights scheduled for December 8 and 9, without any penalty, as it coincides with the cabin crew strike period. The carrier’s customers will have to change the dates between November 28 and December 19, according to the company.
“Given the prior notice of the Cabin Staff strike on December 8 and 9, TAP informs that it will allow customers who wish to change the dates of their flights during this period, to do so without any penalty between November 28 and on December 19. ”, reads a message placed by the airline on the social network Twitter.
TAP says that “although it is in negotiations with the cabin crew union” and “hopes that an understanding will be reached that avoids the strike.”
The TAP crew members announced a strike for December 8 and 9, called by the National Union of Civil Aviation Flight Personnel (SNPVAC), pointing out how it motivates “dissatisfaction, revolt and malaise” among the workers.
TAP and the unions are in negotiations for the revision of the Company Agreement (AE), within the framework of the restructuring plan. TAP proposes salary cuts and more flexible hours, among other measures. Crew members want the current company agreement to be the starting point and foundation for any future negotiations.
