ERSE weekly average price falls 0.3% this week for gasoline and rises 3.4% for diesel

The weekly average price of fuels, calculated by the Energy Services Regulatory Entity (ERSE), falls 0.3% this week for gasoline and rises 3.4% for diesel, according to a report released today by the entity.

Thus, according to the Weekly Retail Price Supervision Report, for the week of December 19 to 25, “the Efficient Price before taxes is 0.789 Euro/l [euros por litro] for simple gasoline 95 and 1,008 Euro/l for simple diesel”, considering that, “after taxes, the Efficient Price is 1,602 Euro/l and 1,660 Euro/l, for simple gasoline 95 and for plain dieselrespectively”.

According to the ERSE, “the Efficient Price registered an update, compared to last week, of -0.3% for gasoline and +3.4% for diesel, taking into account the weekly variation in international gasoline prices 95 simple at -0.7% and simple diesel at +6.3%”.

The efficient price “is an average weekly price determined by the ERSE and results from the sum of the following components: fuel prices in the reference international markets and the respective maritime freight, primary logistics, including in this portion the strategic reserves and of the Petróleos Nacionales System, the extra costs with the incorporation of biofuels and the retail component plus related taxes“, explained the entity.

On the other hand, “compared to the previous week, it was verified that the average of the Public Sales Prices announced in the portals, and reported in the Balcão Único da Energia, was 4.5 cents/l [cêntimos por litro] above the Efficient Price, that week, in the case of simple gasoline 95, and 3.9 cents/l above in the case of simple diesel”, he highlighted, adding that, “in percentage terms, simple gasoline 95 was advertised on the porches 2 , 7% above the Efficient Price and simple diesel was announced 2.4% above the Efficient Price”.

Still in comparison with the previous week, in terms of reduced prices, which are the average prices published by the General Directorate of Energy and Geology (DGEG), 95 pure gasoline showed a deviation of -1.2% compared to the Efficient Price and simple diesel of -3.2%.

Thus, “in absolute terms, these estimates are -1.9 cents/l for pure 95 gasoline, and -5.0 cents/l for pure diesel, below the respective Efficient Prices” .

According to estimates published by the media, the price of diesel is expected to rise by seven cents per liter and gasoline to fall by half a cent this week.
