Jamila Madeira asked to suspend her duties at REN – Redes Energéticas Nacionais. The socialist deputy thus stops accumulating the salary of a part-time adviser in REN with that of a deputy in the Assembly of the Republic.
According to SIC Notícias, Jamila Madeira asked Parliament for an opinion 13 years ago, which was positive and, therefore, she received two salaries. Nevertheless, In July of last year, the deputy asked the Transparency Commission for another opinion, whose decision was made known at the end of the year and an incompatibility was detected. One week after the decision of this committee, the deputy left her position at REN, a company in which she had been since 1997.

Jamila Madeira even took up the position of Director of the European Energy Agenda at REN, but in 2015 she left this position to return to Parliament as a Member of Parliament. For this reason, since 2015, Jamila Madeira has accumulated functions in the REN, as a consultant, with those of a deputy.
