The 12 responses (and non-responses) of Costa to the PSD

The 12 questions that the PSD sent to António Costa after revealing alleged interference in the Bank of Portugal, when Carlos Costa was its governor, were answered after two months by the office of the President of the Government, signed by his chief of staff Vítor Scaria. Eight pages of answers and some attachments, two of which are classified as confidential. In his answers, he admits informal contacts with the governor of the Bank of Portugal about BPI and never mentions the TVI news about Banif. Some PSD questions remained unanswered.

To a set of 12 questions, António Costa preferred a block response on two topics: Banif and Eurobic/BPI. PSD will also review these responses.

In his response, he once again focused attention on Maria Luís Albuquerque, Minister of Finance in the Passos Coelho government, and in particular on Carlos Costa, then Governor of the Bank of Portugal, whom he threatened to sue — after the publication of the journalist’s book Luís Rosa “O Governador” in which alleged pressure from the Prime Minister is denounced.
