PCP accuses the Government of wanting to put TAP on “the wings of the Germans” and “dismantle the country”

The general secretary of the PCP accused the government this Sunday of wanting to place TAP “on the wings of the Germans” and “dismantle the country into pieces”, after having already handed over energy, airport telecommunications and banking to individuals.

The country has the energy in the hands of Chinese investments, it has telecommunications in the airports in the hands of French investments, it has banking under the orders of the Spanish, it has the cement in the hands of Turkish financing and now they want to put TAP on the wings of the German investments”, accused Paulo Raimundo in the Rally of the 102 years of the PCP that took place in a school, in Porto.

In his opinion, this is the way to “dismantle the country cut into pieces.” And he added: “it seems that the United Nations is distributing to everyone, except our people and country.”

In front of a full room, the communist said that requests for clarification and accusations are multiplying, but on what is decisive, everyone agrees, which is to move forward and accelerate the privatization of TAP. “This is the central objective of the economic groups, this is the path of the IL and the PSD, this is the plan that the PS is implementing,” he said.

For Paulo Raimundo, the Government of António Costa wants to turn the page, but keep the script, that is, avoid political responsibilities of the “disastrous” administration of the 20 years to this part.

Already on Saturday, the President of the Republic, Marcelo Rebelo de Sousa, expressed the conviction that the privatization of TAP will have interested parties, a process that he wants to have an outcome “in the shortest possible time.”

In Gondomar, in the Porto district, on the sidelines of the Extraordinary Congress of the Portuguese Firefighters League, Marcelo Rebelo de Sousa said that “the TAP privatization process is very important”, regretting that the Covid-19 disease pandemic He has not allowed it to close in 2020, so he wants to see it closed quickly.
