The State collected another 200 million in VAT until February, half the estimated cost with zero VAT

The State saved more than 200 million euros only in VAT in January and February, compared to 2022, covering half of the cost that the Government estimated to have with the elimination of the tax on 44 food products. Fernando Medina, Minister of Finance, estimated the cost of the measure being debated in Parliament at 410 million euros, and which was generally approved this Friday.

A cost that takes into account that the elimination of VAT will be in force for six months.
