After finishing his degree, Afonso Pinheiro worked for a few years as an employee, until a trip to Mexico, where he had to face long waits in restaurants, made him begin to “get excited about the restaurant sector,” once he became familiar with the restaurant industry. realized the existing “lack of optimization.” It was then that the idea arose to create Pleez, a company of which he is CEO and which was launched on the market in the middle of the pandemic.

When he appeared, the start up provided restaurants with a solution that, through a QR code, allowed customers to browse the menu, order their food and pay from their cell phone, without having to call an employee. The businessman affirms that the possibility of seeing the letter in digital format was what most interested people, although it also had advantages for business. Especially because, he says, there is “a certain dynamism” there, which is reflected in the possibility of changing the menu at this moment. For example, “if I don’t have shrimp, I remove all shrimp dishes from the menu at that time” and these options are no longer presented to consumers.
