Apple surpasses Microsoft and regains first place as the most valuable company

Apple shares continued to rise this Wednesday on the New York Stock Exchange, driven by enthusiasm around artificial intelligence (AI), which allowed the group to overtake Microsoft and regain the largest market capitalization in the world.

This Wednesday at 4:30 p.m. (Lisbon time), Apple shares rose 5.01%, after having closed the day before with a rise of 7.26%, marking a historical record above $200.

Apple’s capitalization reached 3,330 million dollars (about 3,080 million euros), exceeding the 3,250 million (about 3,080 million euros) and 3,110 million (about 2,870 million euros) of Microsoft. Nvidia, manufacturer of French fries used by AI.

Apple, already in first place among Wall Street heavyweights, gave way to Microsoft at the beginning of the year.

The technology company based in Cupertino (California) presented this Monday its own free artificial intelligence (AI) for its products, which will be called “Apple Intelligence”, and an alliance with OpenAI.
