The consumption of liquid fuels for roads increased by 1% in the third quarter, compared to the same period in 2023, and that of LPG fell by 3.7%, according to data from EPCOL – Portuguese Fuel and Lubricant Companies published this Thursday.
“The total market for road liquid fuels increased by 15.3 thousand tons (1%) compared to the same quarter of the previous year and 71.4 thousand tons (4.9%) compared to the previous quarter,” reported EPCOL (formerly Apetro). , in a statement.
In the case of the consumption of gaseous fuels (autogas, butane and propane), there was a drop of 3.8 thousand tons (-3.7%) compared to the same quarter of the previous year and of 11 thousand tons (-9.9 %). ) compared to the previous quarter.
Autogas was the only gaseous fuel that showed an increase compared to the same quarter of the previous year (+23.5%) and the previous year (7.3%), the association highlighted.
Regarding the annual sales accumulated in the third quarters of 2024 and 2023, it was found that all products registered a negative variation, except for gasoline, which rose by 5.3%, and autogas, with an increase of 29.2%. %.
