BE wants to include the reopening of the medical-surgical emergencies of the Mirandela hospital

The Left Bloc wants the necessary mechanisms to reopen the medical-surgical emergency service of the Mirandela hospital, in the district of Bragança, to be included in the 2025 State Budget (0E2025), the party stated today in a statement.

In a statement, BE said that, among the proposals presented for the Bragança district, there is one that aims “All budgetary mechanisms are created for the reopening of the health service,” closed since October 8 of last year.

For BE, the medical-surgical emergency is the reference for five municipalities in the south of the Bragança district, where around 45 thousand people live.

In January, at the Mirandela City Hall, they met with the administration of the Northeast Local Health Unit, which manages the health units of the region, the mayors of Alfândega da Fé, Carrazeda de Ansiães, Freixo de Espada à Cinta, Moncorvo Tower, Vila Flor and Macedo de Cavaleiros.

These municipalities, including Mirandela, represent close to 62 thousand peopleaccording to the latest censuses.

At the end of that meeting, the mayor of Mirandela, Júlia Rodrigues, said that It is necessary to hire more doctors to guarantee services in Mirandela and Bragança.

The alternative for users became the district capital, Bragança, 60 kilometers away.

In addition to this proposal, BE requested that OE2025 include funds to continue the Tua Mobility Plan, which was scheduled to come into operation in 2017.

“This is one of the counterparts to the construction of the Foz Tua Dam, which has not yet been executed,” the party stated.

Proposals were also presented for the reclassification of the Cachão Agroindustrial Complex, in the municipality of Mirandela, and others in the areas of electronic communications, culture and heritage, and environment and nature.

“We consider that the The State Budget presented by the PSD and CDS-PP Government is a bad document for the country and fails in crucial areassuch as housing, health, environment, science, education and lack of support for the most depopulated territories,” BE wrote in the statement sent.

The Government’s proposal for OE2025 was approved by parliament at large on 31 October. The final global vote is scheduled for November 29.
