Pete Davidson and Kate McKinnon bid farewell to SNL

May 22 (UPI) — Longtime players Pete Davidson, Kate McKinnon, Aidy Bryant, and Kyle Mooney have officially left Saturday Night Live this weekend for the season 47 finale.

Davidson confirms leaving ‘Weekend Update’ by joking with producer Lorne [Michaels] I was given socks by mistake, so I am free”, a nod to how a house-elf escaped from captivity in the Harry Potter legend when a man gave her a dress.

Davidson remembers when he auditioned for SNL nearly a decade ago, when Michaels thought he wasn’t fit for the show, but told him, “Let’s fuck together.”

“That’s exactly what we did, and that’s why people who think I’m not worthy of this job shouldn’t hate me because we have so much in common. I have to encourage literally anyone, if any, to be on Saturday Night Live,” he added. -You saw a guy smoking around 11am, not a drug addict – that’s the new Pete Davidson.”

Weekend Update co-host Colin Yost told him he’d miss her.

“Well, thanks Colin, even though I know it’s on the clue card,” Davidson joked. “You were like a big brother to me in the sense that my mom clearly loved you more than me.”

He thanked Michaels, the cast and crew for giving him a home for eight years and memories for a lifetime.

“I appreciate that SNL has always supported me and allowed me to work on myself and grow,” he added.

McKinnon resurrects his character, Colin Rafferty, who is abducted and harassed by aliens in outer space and then returns to Earth for the cold opening of the final episode.

Bryant also reprises his role as the no-nonsense Pentagon interviewer who tries not to laugh at his funny, colorful, sometimes disgusting description of Rafferty’s case.

The sketch comes to an end when Colin boards a spaceship after government officials exchange him for advanced alien technology.

Holding back tears, she said, “Well World, I love you. Thanks for letting me stay for a while. Live from New York on Saturday night.”

McKinnon has been on the show for 11 years and Bryant for 10 years.

Bryant also featured as his characters on Trend Forecasters alongside Bowen Young, saying “my best guys are kissing me” this season, which prompted Young and Update’s MC Michael Che to kiss him. and give her flowers.

Mooney, who has been on the show for nine years, jumped out of the window and flew away in a parody of the movie 9 to 5. He was also seen hugging McKinnon as the actors gathered on stage at the end of the show.

The show was hosted by “Russian Baby” actress Natasha Lyonne.
