In the year that marks the tenth edition, Primavera Sound wants to continue growing, but in a sustained way. In the presentation of the festival, which took place this Tuesday at the Casa do Roseiral, in Porto, a commitment to growth was assumed, from the venue to the budget and the number of artists that make up the poster, which this year has four days . to commemorate the round birthday.
“The word growth is the one that best characterizes the festival. We grew in number of days, in number of musical projects —in the last nine editions we had an average of 60 artists and this year we have 76—, we grew in budgetary terms —it is a festival that this year will invest around 13 million euros— and we also grew in the occupied area of the Parque da Cidade, with an additional five/six hectares of area for the assembly of the festival”, explains José Barreiro, director of Primavera Sound in Porto.
This year, Primavera Sound takes place over four days, from June 7 to 10, as a way to celebrate the 10th edition of the festival. The bill includes names like Kendrick Lamar, Rosalía, Pet Shop Boys, Blur, Halsey and, more recently, the British New Order, who will perform on the last day of the event.
