Three days dedicated to Gil Mendo, figure of the “supernatural consensus” of dance in Portugal

One year later, Culturgest, in Lisbon, is the scene of a tribute that starts this Thursday and continues until Saturday, with conferences and presentations. “He left the contemporary dance and performing arts community in a broader sense, just after Gil’s death,” continues Pedro Pinto, who describes “a snowball” of people who wanted to join the tribute to this essential figure in the history of Portuguese contemporary dance. . From March 23 to 25, there are more than 60 performances and four conversations and an open file to discover a teacher. “It shows Gil’s ability to touch people of different ages and with different histories and paths,” he muses.
