MSNBC MTP Daily presenter Chuck Todd spoke on Tuesday about the upcoming midterm elections.
Todd said the Democrats were “in the zone of fire”, citing an NBC interim indication that the Democratic Party was 75% wrong.
“[Y]You can see where we are,” Todd said. “So where are we now in the new NBC News poll? False trace at 75%. It’s clearly in the shellac region. ”
“But if you’re 75% wrong, that’s how you get candidates that people in Washington don’t like, okay?” Added. “John Fetterman and Kathy Barnett are the people you get when you’re 75% wrong. If it’s 55% wrong, you can get Conor Lamb and David McCormick for example. That’s 75% wrong. And by the way, you may have seen the incumbent manager lost the first game tonight. These are, Horrible numbers for officers, whether you’re running in the primaries or in general.”
Todd later moved on to the degree of approval that President Joe Biden said was “also in shellac territory.”
“Now let’s go back to the president’s ranks and he’s surprisingly 39% of the district,” Todd said. “Actually, it has to get to 45%. As I told you before, Democrats from 45 and over and battlefield states have a boxer chance. When you sit below 40 it’s not very nice in many places, and you can even see light blue states pop up out of nowhere like Colorado. “
