The Government has approved an expense worth around 152.4 million euros to finance students of specialized artistic education until the 2027-2028 academic year in the field of sponsorship contracts with private centers.
According to the resolution of the Council of Ministers published this Friday in the Diário da República, the the overall cost will be 152,406,880 euros.
The value allows ensure the financing of the students who start the courses in the next two academic years of dance, music, theater or visual and audiovisual arts in schools with an association contract throughout their school career, that is, until the 2027-2028 academic year.
The diploma sets the maximum amount of financing for each year, the first tranche being around 8.2 million euros, still for 2022.
Sponsorship contracts are concluded between the State and private educational establishments “when the pedagogical action, the interest in the courses, the level of the programs, the methods and means of teaching or the quality of the teaching staff so justify it,” it reads in resolution.
The text also establishes that the objective is to “stimulate and support teaching in areas not covered, or insufficiently covered, by the public network, the creation of courses with own plans and pedagogical improvement“.
