Registry workers start a strike this Monday and demonstrate in Lisbon

The National Union of Registries starts a series of strikes this Monday, two days a week in August, and holds a demonstration in Lisbon, after the last meetings with the Government they have not unblocked the impasse in the negotiations.

According to the union (SNR), the claims contained in the strike notice for August 01, 05, 08, 12, 19, 22, 26 and 29 cover issues such as remuneration and the lack of human resources in the sector, among other problems. .

The demonstration will take place this Monday at 2:30 p.m. at the door of the Institute of Registries and Notaries (IRN), in the Parque das NaçõesLisbon.

Among the remuneration issues to be resolved immediately, the SNR points out the updating of the tests required by law and which has not been carried out since 2000 (although it has been carried out for all public functions except the IRN), the promotion of notaries to lack of from the unfreezing of careers and the non-accounting/compensation of accumulated points for the progression of all those who were in the last probationary step in the transition to the new careers of Registrar of Records and Official of Records.

Other matters for immediate resolution required by the union include the “mode of distribution and non-uniformity in loading of the common personal emoluments and of the lack of payment of the indemnification for breaches”.

According to the union, the conditions derived from the strike that will affect the lives of citizens and companies are the exclusive responsibility of the Ministry of Justice and the previous ones and the Board of Directors of the IRN, which “were not competent, nor did they line up in good faith in the negotiations to end the strike.

Regarding the minimum services that must be provided during the strike, the union presents the reactive acts for urgent civil marriages due to danger of death or imminence of childbirth, wills for imminent death and civil marriages already scheduled before the date of the call for the strike. Strike.

The SNR understands that the issuance of a citizen ID or passport is not urgent, since citizens know the validity of their documents and must promote their timely revalidation.
