The adherence to the 24-hour strike of the workers of the Rodoviária de Lisboa (RL) to demand salary improvements was around 70% at 08:00 on Monday, a union source informed Lusa.
Speaking to the Lusa agency, João Casimiro, from the Independent Union of Rodoviária De Lisboa Workers (SITRL), explained that the most complicated situations are Caneças, Odivelas, Areeiro and Gare do Oriente.
According to the representative, the union has received no response from the company’s management to the claims it has filed.
The company has a representative in the negotiations, which is ANTROP, with whom we have barely spoken since shortly before the end of the year. We have not even had contact with the Rodoviária administration, since the company does not respond to us, ”he explained.
The workers of the Rodoviária de Lisboa (RL) are carrying out a 24-hour strike, which began at 3:00 am, to demand salary improvements. This is the 15th stoppage made by RL drivers since July of last year, the most recent being on July 1.

João Casimiro explained that the workers’ claims are related to the reasons for the latest strikes, that is, a Salary increase for drivers to 750 eurosin order to “compensate for the increase in the minimum wage.”
Among the requirements are also updating the salary of the other workers in the same percentage as that of the drivers, updating the food subsidy in the same percentage terms as the salary increase of the drivers, reducing the rest interval to a maximum of two hours and the improvement. of the maintenance run.
Currently, Rodoviária de Lisboa, a road passenger transport company, operates in the municipalities of Lisboa, Loures, Odivelas and Vila Franca de Xira, all in the district of Lisboa, serving some 400,000 inhabitants.
In January 2023, RL will integrate the newly created Lisbon Metropolitan Transports, which will operate in the 18 municipalities of the Lisbon Metropolitan Area.
