13 candidatures admitted to the SIRESP international public contest

The qualification phase of the international public tender for the provision of services to the SIRESP emergency network has already concluded, with 13 requests admitted, announced the operator that manages the system.

Within the framework of the limited international tender for the acquisition of SIRESP operation and maintenance services, made up of seven lots, the qualification phase concluded, having accepted 13 applications, which can translate into 24 possible proposals for the different lots”, according to a note sent to Lusa by the company that manages the Integrated System of Emergency and Security Networks in Portugal (SIRESP).

For SIRESP SA, the “significant number of qualified candidates demonstrates that they are ensured proper conditions of competition between potential stakeholders in the relevant market sector and that the tender becomes an economic and technological asset of public interest, that the State intends to continue with the acquisition of these services”.

The international public tender for the provision of services to the SIRESP was launched by the Government in June and has a value of 75 million euros for five years.

To this value is added an investment of 36.5 million euros that will be launched by the General Secretariat of the Ministry of the Interior, with financing from the Recovery and Resilience Plan (PRR) and an additional amount of 38.5 million of euros allocated to its financing and permanent updating.

From July 1, 2021, the transitory management model of this emergency communications system is in force, which has a duration of 18 months, ending on December 31.

In that sense, the the international public tender must conclude before the end of the year.
