Montenegro accuses the prime minister of “hiding information” about the sale of Efacec

The leader of the PSD, Luís Montenegro, accused the prime minister this Friday of “hiding information” from the country about the Efacec reprivatization process, insisting that the government “abusively” uses the absolute majority.

“The Government was urged, yesterday and the day before yesterday [quinta e quarta-feira] in parliament, telling the country and the Assembly of the Republic what was happening with the Efacec process, which was nationalized at the will of the PS, and did not respond in parliament”, the Social Democratic leader began.

Montenegro later concluded that the executive hid the information it had from parliament.

It came to light that the process had been aborted, the reprivatization process, which means that the government, once again, hid the information it already had from the country and from parliament” and “this is very serious,” he accused.

The president of the PSD considers that there is “an abusive use of the absolute majority that makes the president of the Government and the ministers feel that those who have had to not give explanations to the country on important matters are normal behavior.”

Luís Montenegro was speaking to journalists on the sidelines of the opening of the 30th Chestnut Festival, in Sernancelhe, where he ratified the words of his vice president, Paulo Rangel, who said, in a joint interview with TSF and Diário de Notícias, that the prime minister he has “absolute power tics” and, in the last week, he has “democratic harassment” with the entire opposition.

He does democratic bullying to divert attention. The government has relied on issues to divert and distract the Portuguese from what is essential, it has avoided scrutiny in parliament, that is, making it impossible for ministers to go, it happens every week in parliament, ”he charged.

The Prime Minister himself continued, “This week he refused to go and give an explanation about the agreement he reached or built with the French president and the head of the Spanish government on the issue of energy interconnections.”

The sale of Efacec to the DST group did not materialize “given that all the necessary conditions for the materialization” of the divestment agreement have not been met, the Government said on Thursday.
