IL celebrates again on November 25 with the “Festa da Liberdade”, which takes place on Saturday in Porto and has the participation of the mayor of Porto, Rui Moreira, with the Constitution being one of the issues to be debated.

The Lusa agency, an official source of IL, advanced the program of this “Festa da Liberdade”, which this year celebrates its fifth consecutive edition, referring that “it is the only Portuguese party that publicly celebrates both dates that established Democracy and Freedom in Portugal”, that is, on April 25 and November 25.

It will be at the Cupertino de Miranda Foundation, in Porto, where this initiative that aims to counteract “the ideological option of not public commemoration” of November 25 will take place throughout the day on Saturday.

The first panel includes the intervention of the still president of IL, João Cotrim Figueiredo, and the activist Laura Harth, who will discuss the “fight for freedom every day, everywhere”????????

At a time when parliament has opened a constitutional review process, the liberals will debate “The role of the Constitution as a guarantor of rights, freedoms and guarantees”, a panel in which the constitutionalist Teresa Violante and the member of the Executive Committee of IL Joao Caetano Dias.

“November 25 always!” will be the debate in which the mayor of Porto, Rui Moreira, the deputy and former president of IL, Carlos Guimarães Pinto, and the president of the Porto Academic Federation, Ana Cabilhas, will participate.

Nuno Barata, deputy of IL in the Legislative Assembly of the Azores, will be the speaker of the fourth and last debate of the “Festa da Liberdade”, a panel in which he will take stock of his two years in office under the motto “A liberal deputy in the Azores makes all the difference”.
