Cincinnati Bengals quarterback Joe Burrow said he and his LSU teammates were nearly arrested for smoking at a celebration when they won a national championship in 2020.
Barrow, 25, gained national attention when Louisiana won the national championship by beating Clemson in New Orleans. But if you listen to Burrow, he’ll almost spend the night in jail after winning big.
Speaking about the night at Burrow, he said that during the celebration, the police nearly arrested them for smoking in places where smoking is not allowed.
“We’re going to smoke all the cigars in the locker room,” Burrow said on the recording. “We started smoking with them and the police came in because I think you can’t smoke inside or what, and they started arresting people. After receiving the national title. We were like, “What’s going on? Come on guys. ‘”
“In Louisiana. We played in New Orleans for the national championship. They tried[to arrest the players]. And then, I think they finally got it: “What are we doing?” he added.
After that beautiful night, Burrow was named the Bengals top pick in the 2020 NFL Draft. And this year, he led the Bengals to the Super Bowl, even as the Breed beat him 23-20 to the Rams.
