Argentine international Lionel Messi, the Paris Saint-Germain winger, has confirmed that he does not imagine leaving Barcelona as he did last summer.
And Messi moved to Paris Saint-Germain from Barcelona for free after the latter failed to register him due to problems with players’ salaries.
Messi told the Argentine network TyC Sports: “I had everything in Barcelona, I lived in Barcelona more than in Argentina.”
He added: “I didn’t imagine leaving Barcelona and the move to Paris Saint-Germain happened very quickly, fortunately for me, my children adapted quickly, it was more difficult for me and Antonella.”
He continued: “We survived a harsh winter, we are not used to very cold, it was not cold in Barcelona, but I am sure that next year I will have the best season in France.”
On Real Madrid’s Champions League victory last season, he continued: “The best don’t always win, Real didn’t lose to them, they weren’t the best in that Champions League season and yet they beat the best teams.”
Regarding Benzema’s candidacy for the 2022 Ballon d’Or: “There is no doubt about that. Karim showed an excellent level and achieved the Champions League title. He played a decisive role starting from the elimination stages in the tournament.”
And the draw for the 2022 World Cup (Poland, Mexico and Saudi Arabia): “There is no easy opponent, the tournament as a whole will be difficult.”
