Barcelona President Joan Laporta confirmed that the European Super League continues to move towards the “sustainable development of football in Europe” and called for “harmonization” of financial “fair play” rules to avoid disparities between Spanish clubs and clubs. for example, French or English, where the rules are “less strict”.

Laporta said: “At the moment we don’t have a formula for the Super League, it’s a long process, but we’re working to make Europe aware of the presence of so-called club countries that affect competition.”

Laporta approached UEFA for dialogue with the goal of creating “the most compelling competition in the world”.

He said: “There is a full willingness to negotiate with UEFA and I think it will be difficult in the end.”

Laporta explained that the differences in strict financial fair play rules between the Spanish league and the French and English leagues make it difficult for Barcelona to compete in the market.
