He indicated that this competition does not mean the loss of the European Super Cup, but it will not determine the winner’s participation in the Champions League and will combine the European League Cup winner and the Conference League Cup winner. .
As for the selection of participating teams, the Champions League champions will certainly attend, in addition to the most successful teams in the new version of the tournament, which is conducted under the league system.
This way, UEFA will give more value to the match for the top spots in the next edition of the Champions League.
The new Champions League system consists of increasing the number of teams to 36 instead of 32, where each team plays 8 games against different competitors.
The top eight will directly qualify for round 16, with the ninth to twenty-fourth spot owners playing an additional round-trip playoff match against the other eight qualifiers for the same round.
It should be noted that the proposed date for the new tournament is August, with two semifinals and a final, as it has not yet been officially announced, but it is being analyzed and welcomed by the clubs.
