Tiago Antunes, from Efapel, won the prologue of the Torres Vedras International Grand Prix-Joaquim Agostinho Trophy this Thursday and starts on Friday with the yellow jersey in the first stage of the competition.
The eight kilometer time trial was completed by the Efapel cyclist in 10.23 minutesat an average of 46,228 km/h.
The podium was completed by two riders from Euskaltel-Euskadi, a team that placed four riders in the top 10 and the entire team in the top fifteen.
The runner-up was Mikel Aristisix seconds behind the winner, and the third was Asier Etxeberria, seven seconds behind Tiago Antunes.
The Basque team leads by teams.
“I knew I was in good shape, but there are stronger riders in the time trial. That’s why I didn’t count on this victory”, said Tiago Antunes at the end.

The first stage in line, this Friday, will connect the Adega de São Mamede da Ventosa, in Torres Vedras, with Sobral de Monte Agraço, along 150.8 kilometers, with a favorable route to reach the pique.
