The 19-year-old footballer Chico Lamba, who has been part of Sporting’s first team training this season, renewed his professional contract with the club he has represented for nine years.

Being in this club is always an honor. I came here when I was ten years old, it’s like a home for me. It is always a pride to renew and continue a few more years at the Academy, which played a very special role in my life”, said the young “Leonian” central defender, in statements to the Sporting media.

Asked about his goals at Sporting from now on, Lamba did not hide his desire to assert himself in the group led by Rúben Amorim:: “The goal of all the young people at the Academy is to reach the first team. This is also mine, since I arrived at Sporting. I will continue working for it”.

Chico Lamba, an under-16, under-18 and under-19 international, arrived at Sporting in the 2013/2014 season and last season, still in the youth category, divided his performance between League 3, in which he played 21 games, and the UEFA Youth League, playing in seven games.
