The Premier League player who was arrested on three counts of rape of two different women he will not be suspended by the club he represents. Although the identity of the athlete or the club in question is not yet known, official sources of the shield confirmed to the BBC that the player will be able to continue “fulfilling professional commitments”.
“We are aware of the allegations that are under police investigation. We have confirmed that the player denies the allegations and has been released on bail based on the outcome of the interrogations. There is no formal charge and the player can fulfill professional commitments, including travel. We take our commitments and responsibilities seriously and follow our security policies and procedures. We will keep this matter under consideration and will review it if circumstances change.”
