The Supreme Committee for Delivery and Legacy has announced that Lusail Stadium, the largest of the eight stadiums hosting the 2022 FIFA World Cup, will host the Super Lusail Cup match between the Saudi Arabian and Egyptian football leagues on September 9 next year.

“We are proud of this outstanding sports teacher who will play an important role during the tournament and leave an indelible legacy for the people of Lusail City and the State of Qatar as a whole,” he added.

For his part, Nasser Al Khater, CEO of the 2022 FIFA World Cup in Qatar, said: “Holding this match at Lusail Stadium is the perfect opportunity to test its readiness and improve the operational plans we have prepared for the upcoming event. .”

And late last month, AFP learned from a source in the High Committee on Delivery and Legacy, the body responsible for implementing infrastructure projects for the World Cup in Qatar, that “the official opening of the stadium will be determined at a later date.”

The Qatari League Foundation has published the schedule of matches for the new season and included the holding of Lusail Stadium in the second stage for the meeting between Al Arabi and Al Rayyan, who have a lot of fans.

Among the eight stadiums set to host the 2022 FIFA World Cup in Qatar, Lusail Stadium is the only one that has yet to host a single match.

Starting in less than four months, the 64 matches of the 2022 FIFA World Cup in Qatar will be played in eight stadiums, seven of which are new, in addition to the development of the Khalifa International Stadium, the largest of which is Lusail Stadium, which has a capacity of eighty thousand spectators and host the final match.
