A firefighter and a GNR soldier were injured this Saturday, due to smoke inhalation, after a fire in two Chinese product stores, in Aljustrel, in the Beja district, a Civil Protection source reported.
The source of the Beja District Operations Command (CDOS) told the Portuguese agency that the fire, for which an alert was given at 10:21 am, affects two adjacent stores that sell Chinese products, in the center of Aljustrel.
According to the same source, around 12:00 p.m., the fire was still active, with firefighters carrying out maneuvers to combat the flames.

As for the injured, he said, the two, a firefighter from the Aljustrel corporation and a soldier from the GNR, were transferred with minor injuries, due to smoke inhalation, to the Beja hospital emergency room.
Around 00:00 hours, firefighters from various corporations in the Beja district, the GNR and the National Institute of Medical Emergencies (INEM) mobilized, in a total of 58 operations, supported by 23 vehicles, including a vehicle emergency medical and resuscitation (VMER).
