Oleksandr Usyk of Ukraine retained his heavyweight boxing title after defeating Britain’s Anthony Joshua in Jeddah, Saudi Arabia.
Oleksandr Usyk defeated Joshua on points in the second “rematch” fight between them to retain the (WBA Super), (IBF), (WBO) and (IBO) world heavyweight titles.
Joshua lost his first fight at Tottenham Arena in London, the UK capital, last September, while he became the sixth to lose a heavyweight rematch.
The Ukrainian champion defeated his British counterpart in the very first fight that brought them together on September 25, 2021 at the Tottenham Hotspur Stadium in London, depriving the holder of three world champion belts, namely: the International Boxing Federation (IBF), the World Boxing Association (WBA) and World Boxing Organization (WBO).
Usyk became the undisputed world champion and the first boxer in history to collect four major light heavyweight titles, thus winning the world heavyweight titles (WBA Super), (IBF), (WBO) and (IBO), in addition to winning the title champion of the first issue of the World Boxing. Super Series” or the Muhammad Ali Cup in the light heavyweight division.
35-year-old Oleksandr Usyk won the 20th victory in his professional career, 13 of them by knockout, without defeat.
On the other hand, 32-year-old Anthony Joshua has already suffered his third loss in his professional career, compared to 24 wins, 22 of them by knockout.
