BMW PGA Championship suspended game after Queen Elizabeth death

BMW PGA Championship, Queen II. He stopped the game in the first round on Thursday as news of Elizabeth’s death spread.

The decision to stop playing at Wentworth Club near London was made after 30 players failed the first round. No games on Friday.

Officials have stated that if they receive news of the Queen’s loss, a stoppage of the game may be valid.

Event officials said, “As with all major sporting events, we have protocols, but Buckingham Palace will guide us through all of this, so we will only share these protocols when appropriate.” Said.

St Andrews Royal and Ancient Golf Club made a statement following the Queen’s death.

We are very sorry to learn that His Majesty passed away today. When he took the throne in 1952, His Majesty Royal and Ancient St. Andrews Golf Club, as have reigning monarchs since the time of His Majesty King William IV in 1834.

Although he does not play golf, His Majesty’s 70 years of patronage at the club is a great honor for its members. Our thoughts are with His Majesty the King and the entire royal family during this time of mourning.

Queen Elizabeth left her mark on the lives of many active golfers. Perhaps most importantly, he named Rory McIlroy an MBE.

Queen Elizabeth ruled England for 70 years. 96 years old.
