The Saudi Football Association announced the launch of the first edition of the Saudi Women’s Premier League with 8 teams: Al Nasr, Al Hilal, Al Yamama, Nesour Jeddah, Al Sharqiya, Al Asafa, Sama and Meras The new season kicks off on October 13 .
The federation also approved the creation of a first division women’s league with 17 teams: Riyadh, Al Himma, Golden Eagles, Etihad Al Noor, Al Taraji, Al Muttahed, Flij, Al Laith Al Abyad, Al Nawras, Sahem an-Nisai, Al-Aqal, Okaz, Majd al-Gharbiya, Najmat Jeddah, Al-Tohami, Fakhr Jeddah and Al-Ankoa. It will be distributed in three regions, the beginning of which is scheduled for November 11, on a round-trip basis.
The Champions of the First Division will be determined by the results of the final rounds of the playoffs of the quarter-finals, which will be held between the qualifiers from the group stage of the League of the First Division.
The Saudi Arabian Football Association has provided financial support to Premier League clubs where each team will receive 250,000 riyals and each top-notch team will receive 50,000 rials support.
