US President Joe Biden said at a ceremony at the White House where the first crop of the space telescope was released yesterday that this infrared science and color image is the first of its kind and represents a “historic” day.
This image was released six months after the launch of the most powerful telescope in space, the James Webb Space Telescope.
NASA says the image is “the deepest and clearest image captured in the universe.”
The human eye does not see infrared radiation, but the telescope is equipped with technology that allows it.
The image released by NASA shows thousands of galaxies that formed after the Big Bang and the birth of the universe.
Now, NASA plans to release more images taken by the same telescope at a party that space enthusiasts around the world look forward to.
