All manufacturers, even those that, like Bugatti, offer models with more than 1,500 hp, intend to equip their vehicles with smaller engines, with less displacement and less displacement, in order to reduce consumption and emissions. And now that it has announced the end of Chiron, the French brand advances that its successor will be a hybrid and with a more compact and lighter propellantespecially when compared to the impressive W16.
Bugatti design chief Achim Anscheidt told Autocar that the successor to the Chiron will be bolder stylistically, as using a smaller engine will give more creative freedom to the brand’s design office. Lighter and more compact, the engine of the future Chiron will be smaller and have less displacement than the current W16, the loss of power from the combustion engine is compensated with the help of electric motors, powered by the battery of a hybrid system.
This is not surprising, since the new head of Bugatti is Rimac, which develops hybrid systems for Formula 1 and other manufacturers, such as KERS, which is used in the highest discipline of motorsport. In other words, the French brand will benefit from the fact that the Croatians are specialists in developing solutions that improve the performance of combustion engines, thanks to the help of electric units. How many and where will be made are questions that Bugatti has yet to answer.
Always according to Anscheidt, the new hypercar will be more powerful and faster than the Chiron, although it will have a smaller engine. But that will not prevent it from being marketed for a value of around 5 million euros.similar to the sale price of the new Mistral.
