Skoda has an increasingly strong presence within the German group Volkswagen AG. Contrary to what is happening with Seat and “its” Cupra, whose future strategy has raised some questions, for the Czech manufacturer the course is increasingly defined. Skoda has opted to modernize its image and promises to reinforce its unique electric car designed from scratch with three more models powered exclusively by batteries, to present soon.
Skoda had a logo with a somewhat dated design, also painted in green, a color that does not always go well with certain body colors. To overcome this limitation, the construction company presented its new emblemin which that kind of green bird leaves the scene and, in its place, only the brand appears, with a letters modern, with a slight nuance in the “S” to reinforce the dynamism and… only chrome.
But if the most attractive emblem can help, what really matters is the future strategy. To start in the longer term, the Czech brand presented the Vision 7S prototype that served to show off the new logo, but also to unveil the top-of-the-range SUV that Skoda will bring to market in four years, in 2026.
At the moment, the brand only has one tram in its range, the Enyaq iV, designed on the German group’s MEB platform, of which the Czechs have already sold 70,000 units, between the conventional SUV and the SUV Coupé. In 2024, the range of electric models will be reinforced by Elroq, a compact SUV, inferior to the Enyaq. It will have a battery with a capacity of 55 kWh and a range of 450 km between rechargeswhich is expected to sell for €35,000.
Skoda Vision 7S. SUV brings new style and 600 km of autonomy
In 2025, it will be the turn of the little citizen reach the market, model to be shared with VW and Seat. This tram will replace the Citigo-e iV, which was marketed by the manufacturer, being offered for values between €20,000 and €25,000. One year later, in 2026 it will be the turn of the large SUV designed from the Vision 7S prototypethat we have already discussed here and that you can see above.
These three new trams are the result of a Skoda investment in the Czech Republic of 5.6 billion eurosin the restructuring of factories and battery production, to which must be added the 700 million euros put at the service of the growing digitization.
