Users are reporting that the camera “shakes” when taking photos on the “iPhone 14 Pro”!

The highly anticipated iPhone 14 Pro went on sale on Friday as fans around the world eagerly lined up outside Apple stores to be among the first to get their hands on the new device.

But some early users have already reported a strange issue – the main rear camera lens flickers when taking photos or videos on some third-party apps, including Snapchat, TikTok, and Instagram.

It’s not clear how common the problem is or the underlying cause. That said, many interested iPhone 14 Pro users have taken to Reddit and Twitter to describe their experience and share videos demonstrating the problem.

The issue doesn’t seem to affect the iPhone’s built-in camera app.

One Reddit user wrote: “This is why I get uncontrollable camera shake when I open Snapchat or use the Instagram camera. But I don’t have any issues using the regular camera app.”

Another wrote: “I got my new iPhone yesterday and I’m having intermittent camera shake on Snapchat, anyone else trying this?” One wrote: “Just got the iPhone 14 Pro and when I opened Snapchat the camera shook a lot and made a weird mechanical noise.”

Several videos showing the problem have been shared on social media.

Videos show a user opening the camera in a third-party app on the “iPhone 14 Pro” and seeing a blurry image on the screen while the main lens on the device vibrates uncontrollably and makes a loud noise.

He said the crash resulted in the lens on the iPhone not being able to focus properly on subsequent uses, even with the iPhone’s default camera app. He took the device to the Apple Store and was able to exchange it for a new one.

Apple has yet to comment on the matter, but some users have suggested that it could be due to a software bug affecting the device’s optical image stabilization.

And if that’s the problem, Apple will likely implement a fix in iOS 16.1.

One user said that restarting the phone before opening Snapchat and then opening the default camera app temporarily fixed the problem.

But if iPhone 14 Pro owners are concerned about possible damage to the rear camera system, they should avoid opening the camera in apps like Snapchat, TikTok, and Instagram until the issue is resolved.

Apple CEO Tim Cook announced four different versions of the iPhone 14 at the company’s Far Out launch event on September 7.

The new models feature many brilliant features, including advanced camera technology, an “Always On” display, and satellite connectivity (currently available in the US only).
