The Russian army began to widely use in military operations against Ukraine, two modern Russian-made missile launchers Tornado-G and Tornado-S.

Regarding the long-range “Tornado-S” 300 mm system, it is an upgraded version of the Soviet-made “Smerch” missile launcher. It can destroy targets at a range of 120 km and covers an area of 60 hectares. The system entered service with the Russian army at the end of 2016.
Both systems are manufactured at the Splav production plant in Tula and at the Melikhinsky plant in the Urals region of Russia.
Russian media reported that on November 16, the Russian army received a new batch of “Tornado” missile systems.
