The usual rotary transmission control next to the instrument panel disappears and the center console also seems to have caught the attention of the manufacturer, who anticipates that there will be even less animal skin on board. The so-called 2nd generation of the ID.3 should not incorporate changes in the motors or in the capacity of the batteries. but will attend GTX version releasethe sporty ID.3 range, with a second electric motor at the front, to reach 299 hp, and a sportier suspension set-up.
The German manufacturer advances that, due to difficulties with suppliers, some models continue to see their delivery times extended, so orders will go to the 2nd generation. Volkswagen produces the ID.3 in Zwickau and in small numbers at the “model” factory in Dresden, but the plan is to start production in 2023 at the manufacturer’s factory in Wolfsburg, in order to increase the production rate of its models during the MEEB platform.
