Forget electric scooters. These battery-powered inline skates promise

The French Atmos Gear presented yet another surprise at the Consumer Electronics Show (CES) in Las Vegas, dedicated to individual urban mobility. It is practical and economical, or it is not a pair of battery-powered electric inline skates.

Although they require some balance and practice, inline skates are an interesting solution for those who want to move quickly in an urban environment, even in highly congested areas, with low costs. But in more mountainous cities, such as Lisbon and Porto, the climbs always pose some problems, requiring an additional effort that is not always in line with users heading to work or school, destinations that do not want to arrive sweaty as if They had finished the marathon. That’s why Atmos Gear decided to reconcile the agility of inline skates with the advantages of electrical assistance.

The task was not easy, since it would have to be simple, to remain an affordable product, and at the same time light, since these types of skates become less practical if their volume or weight increases. The solution found to house the electric motors and the respective battery was to place the latter in a small fanny pack. From here come two cables that connect the battery to each of the skates, feeding the motor associated with one of the three wheels, with a larger diameter than usual.
