The Portuguese Institute of the Sea and the Atmosphere (IPMA) placed all the districts of continental Portugal on a yellow warning this Sunday due to the forecast of cold in the coming days.
In ten districts in the north and center, the yellow alert came into effect at 6:56 p.m. today and will remain in force until 6:00 a.m. on Tuesday, January 31, according to a statement from the IPMA.
This group includes the districts of Viana do Castelo, Braga, Porto, Vila Real, Bragança, Aveiro, Viseu, Guarda, Coimbra and Leiria.
In turn, the districts of Castelo Branco, Santarém, Lisbon, Setúbal, Portalegre, Évora, Beja and Faro are also under yellow warning from 6:56 p.m. this Sunday, but until 6:00 a.m. on Wednesday, February 1 .
In the statement, the IPMA justifies this decision with the “persistence of low values of the minimum temperature”.
The IPMA forecast for Monday provides for minimum temperatures between 6 degrees Celsius (Faro) and -6 degrees Celsius
