X Plaid model faster than X5 M, Urus Performante, GLE 63S and Cayenne Turbo GT?

Five of the biggest and most powerful SUVs on the market unleashed their 3,167-hp on the track, eager to understand which is quicker to accelerate and brake. The BMW X5 M Competition, with 625 PS and 2475 kg, takes on the Lamborghini Urus Performante (666 PS and 2225 kg), Mercedes-AMG GLE 63S (612 PS and 2420 kg), Porsche Cayenne Turbo GT (640 hp and 2,295 kg) and Tesla Model X Plaid (1,020 hp and 2,539 kg).

The test, organized by the British from Carwow, consists of determining which is the fastest at the start of the ¼ mileapproximately 0-402 meters, followed by a test of repetition from 50 miles per hour (about 80 km/h), to then assess who is the more efficient braking above 100 mph (about 160km/h).

The comparison also has the curiosity of opposing four of the most powerful and fastest gasoline SUVs on the market – the Aston Martin DBX 707 is missing – to the reference among electric vehicles.

If the Tesla is the most powerful, it is also the heaviest, although it has more advantage in terms of horsepower than disadvantage in terms of kilograms. But the North American SUV has four European proposals ahead of it, all of them with V8 biturbo engines, with powers between 612 and 666 hp. On paper, the Plaid has an acceleration advantage, since it announces 2.6 seconds, but the Lamborghini and the Porsche are not far behind (3.3 seconds) and neither are the Mercedes (3.8 seconds) and the BMW (3.9 seconds).

Contrary to what happens in starts up to 100 km/h, in which electric models have more advantages, these ¼ mile tests require you to reach speeds above 220 km/h, for the repetition in the 80 km/h half mile you get very close to top speed, which is 250 km/h for the X5 M, 262 km/h for the Model X, 280 km/h for the GLE 63S, 300 km/h hh for the Turbo GT and 306 km/h for the Urus.
