This is going to be the new Lamborghini Aventador plug-in hybrid with more than 1015 CV

some details of the new Lamborghini LB744the next top of the range of the brand and successor to the current Aventador. It maintains the emblematic 6.5 V12, obviously atmospheric so as not to pinch the noise, but associates it with three electric motors to increase its power to 1015 CV. The electrical units are powered by a battery with 3.8 kWh, rechargeable at 7 kW (in 30 minutes) or V12 (in 6 minutes). The manufacturer has not yet revealed the autonomy in electric mode guaranteed by this accumulator placed between the seats but, judging by the announced capacity, it should not exceed 10 or 15 km.

It is not the first time that Lamborghini has produced an electrified vehicle, since in 2020 it manufactured 82 units of the exuberant Sián -between coupes and roadsters-, a hybrid that, instead of a battery, used supercapacitors to power a small electric motor with 34 CV , destined to reinforce the 785 CV of the V12. Now the commitment to electrified cars is no longer experimental, like the Sián, but is here to stay, since after the PHEV successor to the Aventador, Lamborghini is also preparing the PHEV versions of the successor to the Huracán and Urus.. This until its first 100% electric model arrives, scheduled for 2028.

In addition to revealing the internal designation of the new model, the LB744, Lamborghini also revealed that the atmospheric version 6.5 V12, called L545, underwent a series of improvements to become the most powerful in history, producing 825 CV, 55 CV more than the V12 installed in the most powerful of the Aventadores, the SVJ. If the imposing engine has gained power, instead it has lost weight, now weighing only 218 kg, minus 17kg than before

The facelifted 6.5 V12 is still mounted in a center rear position, but this time upside down, with the gearbox facing rear rather than forward. The solution is less efficient in terms of mass distribution on the two axles, but it makes it easier to fit the new eight-speed dual-clutch automatic transmission. placed in a transverse position -a solution that Lamborghini has not used since the 1966 Miura-, as well as one of the three axial flux electric motors that the LB744 has, all of them 150 CV each. On the front axle are the other two electric motors, each one associated with the front wheel, maintaining the power of 150 HP, but with a torque of 350 Nm, instead of the 150 Nm provided by the set installed between the V12 and the gearbox.

Despite the fact that the box has eight speeds, all of them are forward, thus dispensing with reverse gear, which is ensured by electric motors. The new box also allows continuous reductions, if the driver maintains pressure on the left lever next to the steering wheel. But perhaps the biggest advantage of the new box is the fact that it is extremely compact., only 56 cm long and 75 cm wide. Since the transmission is located behind the engine, rather than in front, this will allow for a roomier cabin, even if only for two occupants.

The new Lamborghini LB744, also known as a replacement for the Aventador, is thus a two-seater coupe supercar with four engines, the main one being the 6.5 V12, the best offered by the brand. But the new model continues to use three electric motors, one at the rear inside the box and two at the front, on the front axle, which are capable of increasing the total power up to 1015 hp, but simultaneously reduce consumption and emissions by 30%. Battery powered motors associated with each of the front wheels also ensure the LB744 vector stabilizer effect, a model that needs electric motors to reverse and travel a distance not yet revealed in exclusively electric mode, which should range between 10 and 15 km. More information will be revealed very soon.
