Two hundred students protest against the precariousness of transportation in Idanha-a-Nova

Around 200 students from the Escola Superior de Gestão de Idanha-a-Nova (ESGIN), in the district of Castelo Branco, signed a petition to protest against the precariousness of transportation in the municipality.

In the document to which the Lusa agency had access this Thursday, the two hundred subscribers, ESGIN students, expressed their “disgust and concern due to the precariousness of the (non)existent transportation in the municipality of Idanha-a-Nova and from Idanha-a-Nova to Castelo Branco”.

This situation “prevents students who study and reside there move in those periods, Isnamely, to know the county [Idanha-a-Nova] They chose to study.

In the undersigned they also showed concern for the future of ESGIN, “given the almost permanent complaints and claims of students and teachers of that institution due to the lack of mobility and the very deficient transportation network.”

In addition, they stressed thatthe vast majority come from outside” from Idanha-a-Nova and are students from other areas of the country, being forced to move to and from these other regions without the necessary mobility.

In the document, the students reinforced their concern about something they consider “absolutely essential” for the sustainability of ESGIN, and of which “the serious desire arisesfree and clear to denounce the current situation, which seems absolutely untenable for her to remain in this school and county [Idanha-a-Nova]”.

ESGIN is one of the six schools of the Polytechnic Institute of Castelo Branco, a public higher education institution that began its activity in 1980.
