Alexandra Carvalho will be the new president of Transtejo/Soflusa, after the resignation of Marina Ferreira following a decision by the Court of Accounts that rejected a contract that the company intended to enter into.
The ministries of Environment, Climate Action and Finance proposed the name of Alexandra Carvalho for the presidency of the fluvial transport company, having already received a favorable opinion from the Public Administration Recruitment and Selection Commission (Cresap), they announced in a statement the two guardianships
The company’s new financial manager was also appointed. Alexandre Santos will occupy this position. The managers are due to take office on April 13. “The third element of the company’s board of directors will be appointed soon,” the ministries add.
Both managers hold public office. Alexandra Carvalho was Secretary General of the Ministry of Environment and Climate Action, to which she was appointed on June 27, 2018 (and which she has held, in substitution, since 2014). She was director of the Environmental Fund and previously director of the international relations department of the then Ministry of the Environment and Territorial Planning. In 2007 and 2021 she coordinated the participation of the Ministry in the Portuguese Presidency of the European Union.
Between 2019 and 2022, Alexandre Santos was in the administration of the Organismo de Produção Artística, a public company that manages the São Carlos National Theater. He left last year, with the appointment of new managers. Before entering this area of culture, between 2013 and 2019, he was a member of the board of the Entidade Reguladora dos Serviços Energéticos (ERSE), an agency under the Ministry of the Environment.
