Do you know the Honda that reaches 782 km/h?

If you thought that Honda produced “only” cars, motorcycles, power equipment (lawn mowers, etc.) and boat engines, you are forgetting the brand’s fastest vehicle, which has now unveiled its second generation during the Convention and Expo. European Commercial Aviation. , which took place in Geneva. We refer to the HondaJet Elite II, which the manufacturer defines as “the fastest aircraft in its class, with greater autonomy and that flies at a higher altitude”.

Conceived by the Honda Aircraft Company and manufactured in the USA since 2015, having already exceeded 200 units sold, the second generation of the HondaJet retains carbon fiber fuselage and aluminum wingswhich allows you to calculate among the lightest of private jets, with advantages in performance and autonomy. Honda claims that the Elite II has already received certification from the US Federal Aviation Administration, with the hope that the European Aviation Safety Agency will soon follow in the footsteps of its American counterparts.

The Honda aircraft remains faithful to the GF Honda turbines, now in the HF120 version, which ensure 2050 pounds of thrust each. This made it possible to improve the performance of the Honda jet, which increases the cruising speed to 782 km/h and the autonomy (with four occupants on board) to 2865 km. The increase in power made it possible to take off on shorter runways, only 1,128 m long.

With a cabin that can fit six (standard) or seven passengers and a cabin for two pilots (despite the manufacturer announcing that this class of jets can be flown with a single pilot), the Elite II is equipped with the latest Garmin G3000, a device that also includes the Emergency Autoland function, a kind of autopilot that controls and lands the jet without intervention from the pilot. Honda has not yet announced the price, but it should be around 6 million euros.
