Central and Eastern Groups of the Azores under yellow notice

The Portuguese Institute of the Sea and Atmosphere (IPMA) put the islands of the eastern and central groups of the Azores under yellow warning until Tuesday, due to rain, wind and sea disturbances.

On the islands of São Miguel and Santa María, which form the eastern group, rainfall, sometimes heavy, is expected between 4:00 a.m. and 2:00 p.m. on Tuesday, which may be accompanied by storms.

In the Central group (Faial, Pico, São Jorge, Terceira and Graciosa), the yellow warning for rainfall, sometimes intense, which may be accompanied by storms, is in force until 9:00 a.m. on Monday.

Sea disturbances will be felt until 6:00 a.m. on Monday, with waves blowing from the north.

The north wind will be felt until 6 a.m. Monday.

The yellow warning is issued by the IPMA whenever a risk situation occurs for certain activities depending on the weather situation.
