Four northern districts under yellow alert today due to rains (which will affect the entire continent tomorrow)

The Portuguese Institute of the Sea and the Atmosphere (IPMA) today placed the districts of Porto, Viana do Castelo, Aveiro and Braga under a yellow warning, due to the forecast of rain.

The yellow warning is the least serious and is in force from 3:00 a.m. on Sunday in Porto, until 6:00 p.m., due to the forecast of periods of rain or showers, sometimes heavy. In Viana do Castelo, the warning is valid from today until 6:00 p.m. on Sunday, and persistent and, at times, intense rainfall is expected.

Aveiro is under a yellow warning between 3:00 a.m. and 6:00 p.m. on Sunday and Braga is under a warning until the same time.

This Sunday the rain forecast extends throughout the continental territory. The IPMA forecasts periods of rain or showers, especially in the north and center, sometimes intense in Miño and Duero Litoral. Towards the south, rain or showers are expected, which, however, will be weak and infrequent in the Algarve. In Lisbon it is expected to rain until late Sunday afternoon.
